SIS: Israeli Troops Carried out 312 Violations of the Ceasefire

GAZA, Palestine, May04, 2005 (IPC Exclusive)--At least 3 Palestinian residents have been killed and 71 others have been arrested at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces, since the announcement of a ceasefire during the Feb.8 Sharm El-Sheik summit, a report by the PNA-run State Gaza-based Information Service revealed Wednesday.


The report pointed out that the Israeli troops have also shot and wounded 30 other residents during 64 shooting-out incidents and carried out 43 invasions in 121 campaigns across the Palestinian cities, towns, villages and refugee camps.

From April26, 2005 until May02, 2005, the Israeli troops, despite full commitment by the Palestinian side to the declared truce, the Israeli troops have breached all the understandings by keeping up frequent attacks on the Palestinian people.

The Israeli troops perpetrated 312 violations against the Palestinian people throughout the past 12 weeks, using all its military capabilities along with excessive measures against the Palestinian residents, thus inflicting a great amount of damage, the report hinted.

The violations mentioned included shooting-out towards residential buildings, frequent incursions into cities, towns, villages and refugee camps, closure of such areas and expropriation of Palestinian-owned lands.

The report numbered the mobile military checkpoints to 85 through 34 campaigns, as the number of land expropriation campaigns has been twice, including the confiscation of 180 dunums of Palestinian-owned property.

In addition, the Israeli troops carried out 7 bulldozing campaigns, as 7 Palestinain residents have been exposed to attacks by armed Jewish settlers, while the times of closure of crossing points and the Apartheid Wall's gates reached the number of 128, it maintained.

The report indicted that the Israeli soldiers have broken into Palestinian-owned houses widely, as they have also arrested and held hundreds of Palestinian men at checkpoints and roadblocks.

Noteworthy, a previous report by the SIS's Palestinain National Information Center, counted the Israeli violations from March29, 2005 to April4, 2005, to 345, as 333 other violations were recorded during the ninth week as the tenth week witnessed 273 others, while 342 others were recorded from April19, 2005 to April25, 2005.
